A DANCE fanatic is hoping to attract pupils to a new street dance class by running free open taster sessions.

Kayleigh Gage, 24, will host the classes at Horden Youth and Community Centre next Tuesday, between 10am and noon, for people to “give it a go and see what they think”.

Kayleigh, who studied at the London School of Musical Theatre, said: “After being taught by many different tutors I have learned many different styles of dance.

“This allows me to formulate all those styles and use my knowledge to fit the pupils I am teaching.

“I hope this dance class can bring some fun into the area and it is also a great way to keep fit.”

Kayleigh has been a performer and dancer since she was eight.

She attended her first class at the centre she is hoping to use for her dance sessions.

Kayleigh also teaches at Shotton Hall School, hosting different classes such as baby ballet performance, musical theatre and street dance.

Her initial idea is to expand on what she is already doing, so she will run classes from both ends of Peterlee.

Kayleigh added: “Nobody around here has taken street dance to the next level.

“I want to create something fun, funky and fresh.”

The class itself is aimed at anyone between the age of six and 21, and dancers of any ability are welcome.

If you want to get involved, contact Kayleigh on 07703 601 081.
