ECHO competition winner Jackie Callen has stepped up to the fitness challenge and is now super slim and fighting fit.

The 47-year-old, from Chapelgarth, has been undergoing an intense personal training plan for the past 10 weeks, with the help of trainer Mark Banks.

Mark, who owns the Fitness Bank, in Ashbrooke, has been working her hard but it is definitely paying off and she has the results to prove it.

“She’s getting fitter and stronger,” he said. “That’s because she has followed everything I’ve told her to the letter.

“Not once has she come to a session and said she’s cheated on her diet or missed a boot camp.

“She has been to every session and tried everything I’ve thrown at her without a single complaint.

“I’m really pleased with her and I think she’ll keep it up even once she finished training with me.”

Since we took her first measurements in March, Jackie, who is 5ft 4in, has lost two stone.

Not only that, she has lost more than four inches from her waist, and a staggering seven inches from her hips.

“I’m really happy,” she said. “I can’t believe how far I’ve come in such a short time, and I’m still enjoying it.

“I was most impressed by my body fat loss. I’ve gone from 38.8 per cent to 26.9 per cent.

“Also, my metabolic age is now 38 instead of 60, which was great improvement.”

The mum-of-two has now been given a new diet regime which allows her to have one cheat day.

Having spent the past 10 weeks being super strict about what she could and could not eat, Jackie says she is struggling with her new found freedom.

“I’ve been on the new diet for a fortnight,” she said.

“It’s a bit scary, as I was in a routine, but Mark explained that you have to keep your body guessing so it keeps burning fat.

“So I alternate my cheat days and I always have something different.

“The first thing I had was a chicken tikka massala, but the second week I over-indulged on chocolate, white bread and crisps.

“It made me feel sick and I could still feel it all in my stomach the day after.”

Jackie added: “I’m celebrating my 23rd wedding anniversary this week, so I’m going to have my cheat day then and go for a meal.

“Not too much this time, though.”
