THERE is a North-South divide when it comes to motorists being satisfied with garage servicing, a survey has claimed.
The North East had a two per cent share of complaints made to automotive industry body Motor Codes.
Twelve per cent were from drivers in the north west, said the self-regulatory body.
However, 29 per cent of complaints to the special motor industry garage advice line last year were from motorists in the south east.
The calls related to cases where Motor Codes had to formally intervene.
Only one per cent of calls was from Northern Ireland.
Wales had three per cent; Yorkshire five per cent; the south west nine per cent, Scotland 10 per cent, the Midlands 14 per cent, and the east 15 per cent.
Problems with cars’ engine control units topped the list of gremlins which afflicted motorists last year, Motor Codes said.
