The sounds of Christmas rang out across Sunderland city centre as shoppers stopped to watch an annual festive event.

Ha’way In A Manger, which is organised by Sunderland Connect Network, was back for the second year running in Keel Square on Saturday.
Dozens of talented musicians and dancers took to the stage with a range of Yule Tide songs and dances.
The City Life Church Band got audience members into the swing of things while the Eden Dance and Northern Saints School performed a delightful routine while wearing Santa hats.
Rick Brock, the event’s compere and Connect volunteer, said: “It’s been a bit of a dull day, but once again the rain has held off.
“In fact it always does whenever we host an event in Sunderland, we’re very lucky.
“We’ve had some fantastic entertainment on the stage today, there’s been lots of variety and I think people have really enjoyed it all.”
