THE lucky winner of a city raffle has driven off with her prize.
Jo Copeland, from Houghton, scooped Grace House Hospice’s Chistmas raffle, winning herself a new Citroën C1 car.
Out of more than 14,000 tickets in the barrel, the winning number drawn was 101889.
All of the proceeds from the raffle will go to help seriously ill youngsters at the hospice. Mrs Copeland said on picking up the vehicle: “We would like to thank Grace House and Town Centre Citroën for the opportunity for being able to win a car – we haven’t come down to earth yet!”
Chris Sopp, dealer principal at Town Centre Citroën, said: “This is our second full year of supporting Grace House and to be in the position to give another car away is fabulous, especially after all the fun we had promoting it last year.
“Mr and Mrs Copeland are lovely people who were very humble and so grateful in their winning. We will be continue to support Grace House. It’s work is tremendous.”
