Girls of Summer - street fashion special
Colour clashing is in right now, and not just any colours – the brighter the better.
You have to be both bold and brave to pull off these statement combinations, with lots of colour, big prints and the ultimate summer accessory huge sunglasses.
As well as bold colours, my new favourite thing is distressed denim, especially cute short-sleeved jackets.
Like everything else 80s, distressed denim has made a comeback this summer. Models in ripped jeans have been sent onto the runway by all the big designers, and the look has been spotted on countless stylish celebrities, including Kate Bosworth, Rihanna, and Drew Barrymore.
Wear them lean and narrow with a sharp shouldered jacket, or try a slouchy boyfriend fit for a trendy, off-duty look.
Next on my must-buy list is the blazer. It's a fantastic chic wardrobe necessity for the summer.
If you aren't convinced check out celebs like Ferne Cotton or Kate Moss for inspiration. You can wear blazers everywhere from the office to the pub, and everyone should head to the high street to snap one up.
If you already have a few hanging in your wardrobe then make sure you try teaming them with new items of clothing to create a fresh new look.
They look fab with shorts, skinny jeans or over pretty dresses, and it's essential that your collars up and sleeves are rolled.
I spotted some great outfits this week, Sunderland shoppers never disappoint! If you want feature in next month's street fashion page make sure you head for the Bridges for their festival-themed display which they have called Glamping.
Keep the first week of July free in your diary if you think you have the perfect outfit for the festival season. We will announce the date you need to be there closer to the time, so see you there.
