Gary Numan set to play Sunderland's Campus

With a signature sound that has influenced hundreds of contemporary musicians, it's little wonder Gary Numan has been hailed a legend.

Music magazine NME recently argued his "influence on electronic music is unparalleled" and with a career that spans more than three decades, Wearsiders have been snapping up tickets to see him when he lands in the city next month.

As he celebrates 30 years in the business, Gary has clocked up millions of record sales, including two number one singles – Are Friends Electric and Cars – and three number one albums – Replicas, The Pleasure Principle and Telekon.

Check out latest news on Gary Numan.

Last year saw him complete a sold out 15-date Replicas tour, as well as doing the rounds on the festival circuit, including performances at Bestival, Wicker Man and The Mighty Boosh Festival.

He also released a double CD remix album, Jagged Edge, based around 2006's Jagged, co-produced with Ade Fenton.

The couple are currently in the studio working on his 18th studio album, Splinter, to be released this year.

Gary's signature style can be heard in everything from Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson, Smashing Pumpkins, Basement Jaxx, Sugababes and Wu Tang Clan, to Queens of the Stone Age, Beck and Tricky.

You can catch him when he plays at Campus Sunderland on Saturday, November 28.

Sunderland's Campus aims to be music central.
