Just six weeks after she underwent a heart bypass operation, Sheila Carr was back with her fellow Music Makers and hitting the high notes.

The medical staff at the hospital attributed her amazing recovery to her lifelong passion, singing.

Sheila, who has been with the choir for 12 years, said: "I had my operation on November 13 last year and I was back to singing with the choir early in the New Year.

"The doctors and nurses felt I recovered quickly and well because I had sung all my life and had good lungs."
