FROM pheasant sausage roll to venison scotch eggs, a host of unusual dishes were served up at a seasonal tasting session.
New business Juniper’s Pantry, in Barnes, opened in July and has a passion for locally-sourced foods.
Owners David Gill and Roger Dickson hosted a game-tasting session of autumnal produce.
Foods included pheasant and black pudding sausage roll, venison scotch eggs and butternut squash and leek and caramelised onion quiche.
David said: “The seasons change, obviously, four times a year and we use produce that is in season to get the best flavour. We’ve started these tasting sessions to give people an idea of what’s in stock, but also it’s a good event to bring the local community together.”
He added: “We’re hoping to have some mini tasting sessions as well for the strawberry and asparagus seasons.”
