ANIMAL lovers are invited to a family fun day this weekend.
Felledge Animal Centre in Chester-le-Street is opening its doors between 11am and 3pm for a day of fun activities for people and their four-legged friends.
Amy Weaver-Tyler, fundraising manager for the RSPCA in the North, said: “Children can look forward to face painting, bouncy castle not to mention old fashioned games including a coconut shy, hoopla and tin-can alley
“We’ll have stalls to browse, a raffle and tombola with some great prizes up for grabs and, as always, home-made cakes and refreshments will be available.
“The Felledge horses will be doing a parade, there will be a police dog demonstration – both of which always go down really well - and our long-time partners Star Paws will be in attendance taking photos.”
There will also be a fun dog show with prizes to be won, which aims to promote healthiness and happiness in dogs and with nine different classes.
Registration opens at 11am with the first classes starting from 11.30am. Classes include happiest dog; best trick; best puppy; best veteran; best rescue dog; waggiest tail; best condition; most appealing eyes and best junior handler. Classes cost £2 each on the day.
Entry into the fun day at the centre on Beaney Lane, Chester Moor free for all, but car parking charges of £3 apply. All money raised on the day will go towards the treatment and rehabilitation of animals at Felledge.
