Frankei Francis will lead the first gig at the new Fan Zone at Sunderland AFC’s Stadium of Light.
Frankie Francis, lead singer of Frankie and the Heartstrings, will be leading the on-stage entertainment schedule in the new fan facility and is looking to showcase the region’s top talent.
Headlining the first gig in the Fan Zone, which will be open for the Norwich City game next Saturday, will be Lisbon, a four-piece who hail from Whitley Bay and who have already sold out Newcastle’s O2 Academy and Riverside.
Frankie said: “It is my intention to make the Fan Zone as great as it can be, I want to connect both the home and away supporters with the North East music scene, as there is a lot of talent in this region.
“We will be looking at bringing in North East bands that are nationally recognised from various genres of music.
The goal is to make the Fan Zone an established venue on the music scene and a rite of passage for the North East’s finest artists.”
“Lisbon is exactly the type of band we want, they are starting to break through, and by offering them a stage in the Fan Zone, we are opening them up to a new audience.”
