Forensics officers look for clues to Sunderland street shooting

Police forensics officers are busy at work as an investigation into the shooting of a 15-year-old continues.

A team have been combing the ground in Hewitt Avenue in Ryhope where the teenager was injured on Wednesday night.

He was rushed to the RVI in Newcastle and remains in a critical condition.

Much of Hewitt Avenue has remained cordoned off by officers as they carry out their investigation.

A 39-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy have been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and are currently in police custody.
