FITNESS queen Kelly Brougham is in the dark when it comes to charity fund-raising.

Aerobics instructor Kelly is holding sponsored ‘Clubbercise’ event this Friday, which involves exercises performed in a darkened room with flashing lights and glowsticks to create a retro feel.

Kelly, who works full-time for the city council in children’s weight management, also runs a successful fitness business, offering a range of Clubbercise classes for all ages.

“I am very passionate about Sports England’s This Girl Can campaign, celebrating women who are doing their thing no matter how they do it, how they look or even how sweaty they get,” she said.

“I have 40-80 people in any class from 13-84 years olds, all raving with a pair of glow sticks to dance tunes from the 80’s to the present day.”

Friday’s fund-raiser will see a class held at the George Washington Hotel from 7.30pm to 8.30pm, followed by a buffet and disco with live music. Proceeds will go to Cancer Research.

“Cancer Research is close to my heart and I want to help the amazing research that is being currently done to help,” said Kelly.

“It’s only through research that we can make advances in treatment and hopefully eradicate cancer in the future.”

Tickets are £10 and can be bought via www.facebook.com/fitnesswithKB or by e-mailing kbfitnessclasses@gmail.com
