COMPANIES are urged to give young people in the care system or leaving care a leg up when it comes to securing a job.
Durham County Council wants people to support the Teenagers 2 Work scheme, which works with businesses across the county to offer youngsters work experience vital to give their futures a boost.
It can help them develop new skills and increase self-confidence, and companies can raise their profile in the community.
Teenagers 2 Work will make sure the young person is suitable for the organisation, provide basic induction training and make regular visits to ensure ongoing support for both sides.
