Firefighters tackle house blaze

FIRE crews were called to tackle a house fire in Durham City.

 Four fire engines were called at the peak of the blaze, which broke out in the large property in Hallgarth Street.

The ground floor of the building was well alight when crews arrived.

The alarm was raised after flames were seen coming from the house.

Three crews from Durham fire station and one from Spennymoor were called to the blaze.

They said that all of the occupants of the house had been accounted for.
