Family’s ‘desperate’ plea over missing South Tyneside son last seen in Sunderland

POLICE still searching for a missing former South Tyneside man are continuing to appeal for the public’s help to find him.

Daniel Smith, 25, was last seen in Sunderland on Friday March 20.

Originally from South Tyneside he had been living in Sunderland.

He is described as 5ft 10 to 6ft, medium, very short light brown hair with Chinese writing tattooed on the left side of his neck and “SMITHY” on his left arm.

Inquiries are being carried out to locate him and officers are asking anyone who may have seen him in the past few weeks to get in contact.

South Tyneside Chief Inspector Julian Bowran said: “It’s now been two weeks since Daniel was last seen and understandably his family and ourselves are incredibly concerned for his welfare.

“His family are desperate to hear from him and hear that he is safe and well and we would urge Daniel, or anyone who has seen him over the past few weeks, to please get in contact with us.”

Daniel, or anyone with information about where he is, is asked to contact Northumbria Police on 101 ext 69191. Callers are asked to quote reference 1113 21031.
