THREE little children have been left without their daddy after he suddenly collapsed and died at his Sunderland home.
The family of William White have been left shattered by his mysterious death at the age of just 31.
His heartbroken mum Margaret today told of her shock after William collapsed only minutes after getting out of bed in the Hendon home he shared with girlfriend Michelle, 32, and their two daughters.
William, known as Will, had complained of headaches and feeling ill in the days leading up to his death.
Mrs White, 58, of Percy Terrace South, Hendon, said: “It was a complete shock, it really was. He had a cold before and complained of a few headaches but nothing major.
“At the moment I’m angry at what’s happened because I just don’t known why. I don’t know what caused it. There doesn’t seem to be a reason.
“He will be a big loss to the family, especially his children.”
Mrs White said the family has struggled to break the news to Will’s children, Kaden Jack, five, his son from a previous relationship, Lucretia, two and Lexi, one, whose lives have been torn apart by the loss of their dad.
“He was a fantastic dad and really loved his kids,” Mrs White said. “We’ve not really said anything to them yet so they don’t really know what’s happened.”
“How do you tell them something like this?”
Mrs White was at home with her husband William, 56, when Will’s girlfriend phoned to break the news.
“Michelle said he’d collapsed. I got off the phone to her and called the paramedics and went straight round.
“They said they did as much as they could but at the hospital they said there was nothing more they could do.”
The former Sandhill View pupil, who was unemployed at the time of his death, was described as happy, kind-hearted and willing to help anyone.
“He was jolly, lived life to the full,” Mrs White said.
“He was a good father to the children and was just a really helpful person. We’re all going to miss him so much.”
The family are still waiting for results into the cause of Will’s death two weeks ago, although an inquest is expected to be held in the coming weeks.
