ECO-enthusiasts are being urged to give their backing to an awards scheme which rewards those who are kind to the environment.
The organisers of County Durham Environment Awards are searching for sponsors for the 11 titles, which are presented by the County Durham Environment Partnership with the aim of recognising great design, environmental guardianship and community spirit across a range of themes.
Categories range from the built environment and greener business to schools and community partnerships.
Terry Collins, chairman of the partnership, said: “The awards are now in their 24th year and are going from strength to strength with the highest ever number of entries being submitted last year.
“The success of the awards is very much thanks to the generous support we have from the many organisations which have sponsored the scheme over the years, and we are once again seeking sponsorship for this year.
