TELEVISION and digital content executive Alex Connock has been appointed a visiting professor at the University of Sunderland.
Professor Connock, who co-founded the production company Ten Alps with Sir Bob Geldof, will work with the team at the David Puttnam Media Centre in TV and digital production.
The professor, who has degrees from Oxford, Columbia University in New York and European business school Insead, said: “I’m a fan of the creative contribution that the North East of England can make to TV and keen to see its disproportionately-modest level of visibility redressed as the industry evolves in the North.”
Graeme Thompson, the university’s dean, welcomed the appointment.
“Alex is an original thinker in converged media. His boundless enthusiasm for TV and digital production will be greatly appreciated by our students and staff.
“We’re delighted he has chosen to work with us here in Sunderland.”
