A MULTI-MILLION pound university investment will see academic life transformed next month.
The recently completed £11million extension to the soon to be re-named Bill Bryson Library, in Durham City’s Stockton Road, was designed by _space architecture.
The project has seen an additional 500 study places, 30 individual and group study rooms and new computer areas added.
Librarian Jon Purcell said: “The aim of the extension was initially to create more space but I can honestly say the finished product has far surpassed our wildest dreams.”
The extension forms part of a £48million project, which also includes a partial refurbishment of the existing library and the construction of the new Palatine Centre and Durham Law School.
