Bosses at the University of Sunderland say it is business as usual for students following the EU leave vote.
They said despite being disappointed by the outcome they will continue to operate as they are.
A spokesperson for the University of Sunderland said: “The whole university sector is disappointed by today’s referendum outcome, but we respect the decision of the UK electorate.
"We will watch developments closely over the next period.
"In the interim, we have assured current and incoming students that until the lengthy process of the potential exit is agreed it is business as usual.”
