UNIVERSITY staff are set to strike tomorrow over a “miserly” one per cent pay offer.
Academics and university staff from the city will walk out for two hours between 11am and 1pm after the University and College Union launched the latest stage of industrial action.
Further two-hour stoppages will take place on January 28, between 2pm to 4pm, and February 10, between 9am and 11am.
A spokesman for the University of Sunderland said: “We are doing everything we can to minimise the disruption for our students during this period of national strike action which affects all universities.
“We will maintain business as usual in the interests of protecting the quality of our student experience should we be affected by this industrial action.“
“The university will remain open.”
