A STUDENT will strut her stuff down the catwalk in a national modelling competition.

Ashleigh O’Brien, who studies animation and design at Sunderland University, has been short-listed for the sixth annual Top Model UK final, in March, at the Hilton Metropole, London.

She will appear in the editorial category along with 23 other women, selected from thousands of applicants.

Ashleigh, originally from Northern Ireland, said: “I applied back in September and then had to go down to London for the interview.

“The final next year is going to be a big fashion show and we all will be modelling designer clothes. My parents and friends from university will be coming down to give me some support.”

The public can vote for their favourite finalists from all the categories, and profits made will be donated to Great Ormond Street hospital.
