SUNDERLAND goalkeeper Craig Gordon helped school children put their best feet forward for charity.

The injured Black Cats star went to Farringdon Primary School as part of Niall’s Mile, a community fund-raising event in aid of SAFC Foundation.

After talking to youngsters at the Archer Road school, he led the pupils around the playground and onto the playing field to complete their one-mile walk.

Niall’s Mile is an annual event which encourages Wearsiders to get active by taking part in organised, mile-long walks.

Schools registered to take part in a special Schools Day where pupils were encouraged to wear Sunderland AFC colours and take part in a walk led by a player.

Farringdon Primary School was chosen to receive a visit from Craig Gordon along with mascots Samson and Delilah.

Niall’s Mile is delivered in partnership between SAFC Foundation, NHS South of Tyne and Wear, Sunderland City Council, University of Sunderland and Walk 4 Life.
