STAFF and students at Sunderland College have been shocked by the sudden death of a vice-principal.
A spokesman for the college said everyone was saddened to learn of the death of Trevor Ashton, assistant principal in charge of international business development, who was based at the Shiney Row campus.
He said: “Since joining the college in 2009, international business development has flourished under his leadership and he will be greatly missed.
“Today our thoughts and sympathies go out to his family.”
Mr Ashton, originally from Warrington, was also a magistrate who served the community for a number of years.
