SUNDERLAND College has joined forces with others across the region to give catering students a dining experience.
The collaboration with TyneMet, Northumberland and South Tyneside, will give Level 1 hospitality and catering students the chance to serve up a three-course meal with the opportunity to find out how it is done at the other colleges.
Each college will host the students from the other venues, treating them to a fine dining experience so that they can identify best practices and showcase their own hospitality and catering facilities.
TyneMet College was the first to host 36 staff and students from the other three colleges, including Sunderland College, and although very nervous the students performed with professionalism and expertise.
Supported by their catering teachers the 12 students prepared cooked and served a menu, which had three choices of starter and main and two choices of dessert.
Over the coming weeks, each of the colleges will have their turn to put their skills into practice and host a fine dining event
