TOP talents and those who have done their best to help others were among the scores of students rewarded by their school.
Seaham School of Technology’s annual achievement awards presented 75 titles in reward for a host of reasons, from sporting and academic success to their efforts as carers and for support they lend to other pupils.
The event, held at the Stadium of Light, was attended by the Mayor of Seaham, Sue Morrison, and welcomed Sunderland AFC’s commercial director Gary Hutchinson as its guest speaker, with his speech passing on his message of the need for aspiration, ambition and hard work in order to do well in life.
Students also compered the night, which was backed by businesses.
Headteacher David Shield said: “I am exceptionally proud to celebrate the achievements and success of the young people of Seaham.”
Parents and friend of the school were also among the audience, with the organisers planning to hold next year’s celebration at the stadium after the good feedback about the night.
