STUDENTS from across the city are being urged to try their hand at a new sport.

Sunderland College is encouraging all its young people to go along and have a go at learning to play rugby.

Training takes place on Wednesday afternoons in Washington with a bus leaving from the Hylton campus in Sunderland’s Red House at 3pm to take players to the venue.

The training sessions are open to both men and women of all abilities and are taught by three professional coaches.

A full calendar of events has been planned for the members as well as games and tournaments including trips to watch the Newcastle Falcons.

Anyone who would like more information about the rugby training should email martin.scott@sunderlandcollege.ac.uk.
