YOUNGSTERS were inspired to raise funds for the RNLI after learning about its life-saving work.
Lifeguards were handed a cheque during a visit to St Leonard’s Primary School, in Silksworth, where they held a series of safety workshops.
Year Five teacher Laura Defty said: “The children took part in the RNLI’s Hit the Surf last June and had a fantastic time, while learning essential beach safety. We were so impressed that we decided that we’d like to raise some money to say thank you.”
