YOUNGSTERS at a city school are learning about the benefits of the good life as they dig a new garden.

Year Three and Four pupils at St Patrick’s Primary School, Ryhope, are hoping to reap what they sow.

Carrots, potatoes, onions and radishes were among veg planted by the children.

The idea to start the project has come from Asda, and its Community Life programme.

Dominique Allison, Asda’s Community Life Champion at its Grangetown store, will be working with the children.

She said: “It’s gone really well and the children all really enjoyed it. This is going to be a continuous thing and we’ll see how they get on over the next few months.”
