A CLUB for youngsters has been given the thumb-up by education chiefs.
Ofsted inspectors rated Just Kidds North East, which is based in Seaburn Dene Primary School, as satisfactory.
The Torver Crescent club provides early-morning and after-school sessions for youngsters and was given the grading for its early years provision.
In their report, inspectors said: “The provider, manager and staff create a nurturing environment where children settle, enjoy themselves and become increasingly confident, and parents feel welcomed and appreciate regularly exchanging information about their children’s experiences.
“Children enjoy their time at the after-school club and take part in a range of age-appropriate activities that keep them occupied and engaged in their play.”
They added: “Children learn to respect and tolerate each other’s differences, and their behaviour is managed effectively by staff.”
To improve further, the club needs to ensure that at least one person who has a current paediatric first aid certificate is on the premises at all times.
Also, it has to enhance current partnerships with relevant professionals, including school teachers, to further complement children’s learning in settings in which they spend more time, and fully address any identified learning and development needs.
