NURSERY children took a mystery tour as they chose their own Christmas tree.

A group from Seaham Harbour Nursery travelled to a top secret woodland area to pick their pine as part of the school festive programme. The nursery’s headteacher Carole Scott said: “This is something we’ve done for a long time and is a nursery tradition to go up to choose the tree and bring it back and decorate it. We take up a small group of children and it’s a lovely trip for them.”

The trip to the forest follows on from other cultural celebrations this term including bonfire night and studies on Diwali.
