Melvyn Bragg to lecture at Durham University

MELVYN Bragg will deliver the second annual lecture of Durham University’s Van Mildert College Trust.

The lecture, called The King James Bible and the Modern World, will take place at The Ann Dobson Hall, Van Mildert College, on November 18 at 5.30 pm.

Tickets are free and available to the public.

Professor Brian Tanner, of Durham University, said: “This is a rare opportunity to experience one of the most instantly recognisable cultural figures in the UK, who will be delivering his lecture to highlight the anniversary of the King James Bible, and the release of his latest book The Book of Books: The Radical Impact of the King James Bible 1611-2011.”

Admission is by ticket only and applications should be made by email to vmc.trust@dur.ac.uk. There is no charge, but donations to Van Mildert College Trust are requested.
