LITTLE Jacob Williams is enjoying his introduction to education – at just five months old.

The tot is helping students at East Durham College get to grips with their lessons.

Level 3 childcare students at the Peterlee-based college were delighted when Jacob, along with his mum, Amy, went along to help them with the child development unit of their course.

Amy, 23, from Peterlee, studied childcare at the college.

College lecturer Paula Kirton said: “This was the first opportunity the students had had to put into practice their academic knowledge of observation.

“They were also able to ask Amy questions about Jacob’s physical development and his care routines.”

Student Sophie Garrett, 17, from Horden, said: “It was very useful because when I go on to a placement I will be able to observe and learn using the methods we learned.”
