East Durham College barbering students were treated to a talk from the British Barbering Association (BBA).

The team from the BBA visited the college to talk to students about the history of the barbering trade and run some demonstrations to show students some traditional techniques.

This was the first stop for barbers Mike Taylor and Hannah Grigg, who set up the BBA, as they tour the country talking to young people about the industry.

East Durham College barbering lecturer, Alison Scattergood, said: “It was great to have Hannah and Mike here with us today, the students loved the session.

“The students really enjoyed learning the history behind the trade, seeing how the industry has changed through the years.”
