A HOUSING group and three of its contractors have joined forces to ensure mums who attend any of the events they put on will support those who are breastfeeding.
East Durham Homes (EDH) and its partners Keepmoat, Kier and Wates have signed up to Durham County Councils Breastfeeding Friendly Scheme.
EDH was the first housing provider to sign up to the scheme in February and now all three of the firms have joined them.
This means that in future, all open days and respite facilities that are arranged when decent homes work is to be carried out in an area will be “breastfeeding friendly”, supporting mums to come to the events and also to benefit from the respite services we offer.
Cafes, restaurants, leisure centres and community venues are also among those which have made a pledge so far.
Paul Mains, EDGH’s interim chief executive said: “We are really pleased that our partners have agreed to join us in supporting the Breastfeeding Friendly Scheme.”
