A FITNESS fanatic has been invited to offer his expertise at the Northern Pride festival this weekend.
Carl Conifey, from Red House, started a lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender exercise (LGBT) class which has boomed and earned him an invite to the festival.
The 22-year-old set up the class as a chance for the LGBT community to have a place to exercise and socialise but that’s also open to the wider community to help forge links.
The University of Sunderland graduate said he was ecstatic to have been invited to Northern Pride.
Carl said: “I feel privileged and really excited because there’s going to be hundreds and thousands of people coming into the park.”
He will be offering up advice on how to stay fit and eat the right food as well as giving exercise demonstrations.
“It’s so beneficial to the LGBT community, I will be giving samples of super foods and giving advice on healthy eating as well as doing exercise demonstrations.
“Anyone can come along and get involved,” added Carl.
Northern Pride will be at Exhibition Park, in Newcastle, today.
Carl will be there from 1pm to 5pm.
Northern Pride group aims to promote equality and diversity and provide a strong and positive voice for the LGBT community in the North East.
