A CITY school has signed up at a new national network for former students.
The education charity, Future First, has set up alumni networks in more than 500 state schools and colleges enabling them to use the talents of former students to support current students facing a challenging jobs market.
St Anthony’s Girls’ Catholic Academy in Thornhill Terrace has signed up to the scheme in the hope of hearing from past pupils who can help and inspire young people in a number of ways, such as career role models, providing work experience, becoming governors or fund-raising.
Monica Shepherd, headteacher at St Anthony’s said: “For a number of years now we have wanted to further develop alumni links.
“Our extensive network of past pupils, with all their valuable experience, will be vital in helping us broaden current students’ jobs horizons and equip them even better for the world of work.”
