A POPULAR dinner nanny waved a fond farewell to a city school after almost three decades.
Lunchtime supervisor Rene Anderson, 65, pictured with pupils Toby Odumosu, Jack Muse, Megan Appleby, Somaiya Hussain and Maisha Ahmed, has hung up her apron at Richard Avenue Primary School after 27 years of service.
Students and staff at the Hurstwood Avenue school held a special assembly to celebrate Mrs Anderson’s retirement and presented her with gifts and flowers.
Karen Todd, headteacher at school, said: “Throughout her time here, she has seen many staff come and go – pupils who became parents and some even grandparents.
“Mrs Anderson will be a big miss to Richard Avenue Primary School and we all wish her the very best.”
