AN Oscar-winning guest speaker will be part of a Wearside conference on the changing nature of the creative, media and technology sectors.
Senior figures from the BBC, local and national TV productions and academics will descend on the North East on Tuesday, June 10, for the Acamedia Conference.
Lord David Puttnam, a former chancellor of the University of Sunderland, will be just one of the keynote speakers at the event and it will be chaired by Steve Hewlett, a presenter of BBC Radio 4’s The Media Show.
The conference will provide a platform for discussions on best practice and routes into the sectors.
It is designed for small businesses, large organisations and academics interested in the constantly changing nature of the creative, media and technology sectors.
Acamedia 2014 will be building on the success of last year’s inaugural event that attracted more than 180 delegates.
Graeme Thompson, dean of arts, design and media at the University of Sunderland, said: “Latest figures show that growth in the creative industries has out-stripped every other UK sector. And increasingly content producers, designers and technologists are being sought.”
The conference runs from 8.30am to 5pm. For more information, or to book a place, visit www.acamedia-conference.co.uk.
