NEW vice principal Andrew Phillips has taken up his post at East Durham College.
His appointment is part of a re-structure of the college’s leadership team, overseen by principal Stuart Wesselby.
Originally from Neath in South Wales, Andrew has relocated from London to join the college, which is based in Peterlee.
His role as head of business development and external relations will see him manage the college’s business development activity with employers and external agencies, including responsibility for all aspects of employer engagement and partnerships with schools.
Andrew, said: “I was delighted to accept the post because of the outstanding potential the college has to serve the learning needs of this community, especially in supporting local employers with their learning and training requirements.
“I’m really looking forward to integrating all the college’s activities, across its various sites, and making East Durham College the hub of community life – be that further education, work or leisure.”
Mr Wesselby, said: “A key focus and challenge for Andrew will be to source additional funding and income streams for the college. I’m sure he will be a valuable member of the senior team as we look to develop new commercial ventures.”
