PERFORMANCE tables released today show another successful year for the city’s A-level students.
Grindon Hall Christian School had the highest average point score per exam entry last year with 225.6, closely followed by City of Sunderland College with 219.5.
St Robert of Newminster had the highest average point score per pupil with 897.1.
In County Durham, Durham High School for Girls shone with an average point score per exam of 244.8.
Dave Riddell, Director of Student Services at City of Sunderland College, said: “We are delighted with the results. Our students have once again achieved higher grades for each exam taken.
“Given that two thirds of the students listed in the league tables are from the college, this bodes well for the city. What is more important to us is that the improvements in grades for each exam has enabled even more of our students to gain their first choice at university.
“Overall, it has been a fantastic year for the college with a 99 per cent A-level pass rate, 883 students successfully placed at university and an outstanding Ofsted inspection report.”
