A ceilidh with Joint Stock band and caller will be held in St Mary’s Church hall on Friday, October 2, at 7.30pm. Tickets are £10, including supper, take along your own drinks. Proceeds are in aid of church funds. Tickets from Hazel Wilson or ask a church member.

A new Walk4Life short walk starts and finishes from Healthworks each Friday from 10.30am to 11.30pm starting September 25.

A coffee morning will be held in Healthworks on Thursday from 11am to 1.30pm. Money is being raised for cancer charities (charities nominations are requested and the top two will receive the money collected). There will be a variety of cakes and scones, feel free to pop in or donate.

Easington Village Millennium Luncheon Club’s AGM was held this month with chairman Alan Miller. Copies of the annual report and accounts with balance sheet to March 31, 2014, was presented. Membership had fallen over the last year due to death or illness, new members had started but there was still room for more of those who meet the criteria. Funds had stayed healthy thanks to fundraising events, grants and donations. He thanked the volunteers for their hard work over the year and also volunteer Lillian Martin, who left just before the summer break. She was one of the original volunteers in 2000. A letter of thanks had been sent and a collection made by members and volunteers to thank her for her work. The existing committee was returned with volunteers Maureen Noble, Janet Ferguson and Bill Brennan and members’ representatives Sylvia Barker and Jane Smith, Yvette O’Donnell and John Anderson. Present officers were Alan Miller, chairman, Ann Dixon, treasurer, and Eileen Hopper, secretary.

Easington C of E Primary School is holding a Macmillan Coffee Morning on Friday at 8.30am in the school yard.

Saint Mary’s Church Mothers’ Union will be held on September 28, at 2pm in the church hall. Speaker will be Dawn Hughes, who will talk on Global Charity. Completed boxes for the shoebox appeal should be brought for Dawn to collect at the meeting.
