A DRIVER was hurt in a rush-hour smash.
Police and paramedics were called to Durham Road shortly before 5.30pm on Monday, after a Ford Ka collided with barriers near Sunderland College.
It is not known whether the driver was badly hurt or what caused the accident, near the Bede Campus.
A spokeswoman for Northumbria Police said: “At 5.25pm, police were informed a car had collided with a barrier in Durham Road.
“Police and paramedics were in attendance and the extent of the injuries are not know at this stage.”
