FOOD lovers raised almost £700 for Save the Children as they charity teamed up with an Indian restaurant for the night.

The charity hosted the gourmet evening at Sagar, in East Shore Village, Seaham, with the help of its boss, with 80 people dining during the event.

The evening also included a raffle, with the first prize a £20 voucher for the venue, with other prizes also donated to the competition businesses from the area.

A total of £699 was raised for the cause, with organisers passing on their thanks for the restaurant’s support.
