Dipping into the big chill for Children in Need

Owen Davis, centre, is planning to raise money for Children in Need by going for a swim in the North Sea dressed as French Maid. A TEAM of kind-hearted fund-raisers are preparing to brave the cold to raise cash for good causes.

Gillian Douthwaite and a group of relatives and pals are gearing up to take a mid-winter dip in the icy North Sea in aid of Children in Need.

And the daring group will be carrying out their annual act dressed in just their pyjamas and other fancy dress.

Gillian, 38, of Shiney Row, said: “There should be about nine or 10 of us doing it.

“I just like to help and I’ve raised money for Children in Need for the past couple of years because when I see it on the TV it breaks my heart.”

The group will be taking part in their Seaburn Dip on November 5.
