WEARSIDE women can treat themselves to a ladies day with a twist.

St Benedict’s Hospice, based at Monkwearmouth Hospital, is hosting a special fund-raising day with a jam-packed bill on the agenda.

On Friday, October 19, guests can enjoy a slap-up two-course meal at Toni’s Ristorante Italiano before heading to the Sunderland Empire for a performance of Swan Lake by Birmingham Royal Ballet.

After the performance, guests will then get the chance to meet the cast over afternoon tea and cake.

Sylvia Stoneham, hospice fund-raiser, said: “This will be a really special day and a great treat for all those ladies out there.

“It is nice to know that you can enjoy a good day out while raising money for such a worthy cause.”

The event costs £40, with ladies meeting at Toni’s restaurant, High Street West, at 11.30pm for lunch at noon.

The ballet starts at 2pm.
