HUNGRY children can dine out with a host of cartoon favourites for charity.

The family meals, which feature characters such as Dora the Explorer, are being offered at Amore Italian restaurant, Tavistock Place, to help support St Benedict’s Hospice, in Monkwearmouth.

They will be available every Saturday, between noon and 3pm, in the run-up to Christmas Day.

Mum-of-two Amy Pink, 30, from Humbledon, helped organise the charity days.

“It’s great to be able to do something for a local charity like St Benedict’s,” she said.

“They provide such a valuable service.

“The meals give children the chance to meet their favourite characters as well as take part in all sorts of fun and games.

“There will also be a collection for the charity.”
