JOHN Darwin could be sent back to prison after trying to cash in on his story.
The 60-year-old, who faked his own death in a £250,000 insurance fiddle with wife Ann, was freed last week, halfway through his six year sentence.
The father-of-two went missing off the coast of Seaton Carew but walked into a police station in 2007.
As part of his conditions of release, he is now allowed to speak to the media, but probation service insiders have claimed he has flouted his bail conditions by trying to sell his story.
Prison bosses are said to be furious after pictures of him taken on day release enjoying a walk near his old home made it into the Sunday papers.
Darwin is reported to be staying in Easington.
