WEARSIDERS inspired by Bradley Wiggins’ Olympic win can get in the saddle and ride for charity this weekend.
St Benedict’s Hospice is holding its annual fund-raiser that will see a host of people take part in a cycle ride and walk.
Sunday’s family-friendly event will see people take part in one of four varying routes, all off-road, following the cliff-top cycleway.
Organiser Sylvia Stoneham said: “We raised a total of £4,000 for the hospice last year, so we’ll be hoping for the same kind of results.
“We often get the same families doing it every year in memory of their loved ones, but everyone is welcome, either as individuals or teams.”
Fund-raisers who bring in more than £50 will also be entered into a prize draw to win a bike.
The event, now in its 13th year, takes place on Sunday, at 11am, starting from Roker Marina.
